The Army and Navy Club is a private Five Star Platinum Club in Washington, DC with over 5,000 members. The majority of our membership is comprised of active duty and retired military officers from all armed service branches. The Club welcomes civilians who share our interest in the military or who are prominent in their profession or community to inquire about membership. The Club offers its members and their families exclusive privileges to a vast range of elegant facilities and excellent services. Members of the Club get to enjoy the full benefits of the clubhouse. From exceptional fine dining, to social and professional networking, to family programming and special events, the Club is a prestigious home away from home for our members and their families.

In 2022 The Army and Navy Club was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Club Award, the Hallmark of Excellence, presented by BoardRoom Magazine, in partnership with Forbes Travel Guide. This merit-based award recognizes exceptional private clubs that exceed expectations in the quality of service, facilities, governance, and the teamwork of the staff and management. Awarded clubs will qualify for “SPECIAL,” “ELITE,” or “ICONIC” designations based on specific criteria. The highest designation of “ICONIC” status was achieved.

Membership Types

A person who is serving or has served as a commissioned officer in one of the uniformed services of the United States (i.e. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) shall be eligible for regular membership. Regular membership shall carry all privileges, including the right to vote, to serve as an officer of the Club or a member of the Board of Governors, to have an interest in the property of the Club and to endorse applications for membership.

Persons who are closely associated with the military profession, or who are prominent in their profession or community, and who are compatible with the membership of this Club, shall be eligible for associate membership. Associate membership shall carry all privileges except the right to vote, to serve as an officer of the Club or as a member of the Board of Governors, to have an interest in the property of the Club and to endorse applications for membership.

The privileges of membership may be extended to Ambassadors and commissioned officers in the armed forces of foreign countries so long as they are on duty in the United States.


As a Platinum Club of America, The Army and Navy Club has distinguished itself as among the top 5% of private clubs in the country. It is valued by its members as a showplace of camaraderie, prestige, and tradition, and boasts for its exceptional dining and hospitality.

Members of The Army and Navy Club receive exclusive access to first class dining, a distinguished art collection and library, exceptional overnight accommodations, outstanding social and networking events, fitness facilities, and the ability to enjoy over 200 other premier private clubs worldwide.
 

All requested information on the membership application must be filled out. An original and signed application received via email is preferred. Applications can also be dropped off at the Front Desk or mailed to the clubhouse .

Annual dues and initiation fees are determined by the information provided on the application. Memberships categories are dependent on the prospective member's age and location. If you have more than one home or work address, the closest address will be used to determine your membership category. Prospective members stationed, residing, or having a place of business within a radius of 30 miles of the clubhouse shall have resident status. Those who are outside of the limits shall have non-resident status.

All paid dues and initiation fees for admission to the Club are non-refundable. The admittance process is dependent on when the prospective member submits their application. Please allow 4 to 8 weeks for processing. New members accepted to the Club will be notified by email.
 

The best way to get to know The Army and Navy Club is with a quick tour. Club tours take about 30 minutes and are scheduled Tuesday through Friday between 11 am and 4 pm. Tours are by appointment only and our business dress code is required when coming in to see the Club. Jeans are not permitted. To schedule a tour, please visit the link below.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of The Army and Navy Club. The Club is a not-for-profit private Club, therefore you will need to qualify for admittance. To join the Club, you must complete a membership application, and submit payment for applicable monthly dues and a one-time, non-refundable initiation fee.
